A 25 km diameter granite intrusion lies on the margin of the Nuba Mountains. It apparently comprises a single unit of peralkaline granite of perthite, sodic amphibole replaced by aegirine and accessory zircon. Rock analyses are available in Curtis and Lenz (1985)

Age:
Four samples of the peralkaline granite gave a Rb-Sr isochron age of 542±12 Ma (Curtis and Lenz, 1985). Batyrmurzaev et al. (1982) obtained a K-Ar apparent age of 360±12 Ma.
