A small outcrop of fenitized diabase within Precambrian phyllites has been described from Catingueiras County (Farina and Mello, 1970). The rock principally comprises alkali feldspar, a sodic amphibole, biotite (30%), augite/aegirine and carbonate. High potassic (11.3% K2O; 4.59% Na2O) trachytes have been described from the same area (Farina, 1969, pp. 19 and 25).

Economic:
Minor lead and copper mineralization occurs.
