Stocks, of up to 0.7 km2, and dykes of nepheline syenite and peralkaline syenites cut Sinian (Upper Proterozoic) terrigenous rocks. Many nests and veins of low-temperature carbonatites are known in the area. The alkaline rocks and carbonatites are concentrated along deep north-south-trending faults. Xenoliths of country rocks are preserved in the syenites and fenites are widespread. It is postulated that the intrusion has an area of 60 km2 at a depth of 2 km below the present surface.
