The complex is situated at the margin of the Alaisky shield in the core of an acute synclinal structure. It covers about 54 km2 and is symmetrical in form but has a complicated structure; it is probably a ring complex. In the central part are nepheline syenites which change towards the periphery to peralkaline and subordinate quartz syenites. In the contact zone there is extensive cataclasis and development of quartz rocks.

Age:
Permian, on geological evidence.
